Product Code : EL-BE-6201
Jlab Export is a leading Mechanism of Botulinum Toxin Model Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Mechanism of Botulinum Toxin Model (code EL-BE-6201) is a teaching model on how botulinum toxin, made by Clostridium botulinum, acts where a motor nerve meets a muscle and stops the release of acetylcholine, causing paralysis. It suits college microbiology, physiology, pharmacology, medical and nursing courses. Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Botulinum Toxin Model Used For?

At a normal neuromuscular junction, a nerve impulse makes vesicles of acetylcholine fuse with the membrane of the nerve ending and release the transmitter, which crosses the gap and makes the muscle contract. Botulinum toxin is a two-chain protein: the heavy chain binds to receptors on the nerve ending and carries the toxin inside, and the light chain, a protein-cutting enzyme, cleaves the SNARE proteins, such as synaptobrevin and syntaxin, that the vesicles need in order to fuse. With no acetylcholine released, the muscle receives no signal — a flaccid paralysis that recovers only slowly as the nerve endings regrow.

This explains the descending, symmetrical weakness of botulism, which typically begins with double vision, drooping eyelids and difficulty swallowing and can spread to the breathing muscles. Botulism comes from toxin in poorly canned or preserved food, from spores growing in an infant’s gut, or from infected wounds; thorough boiling destroys the toxin. In tiny, controlled doses the purified toxin is also used in medicine to relax overactive muscles.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the model show?
The mechanism named in its title — how the toxin acts at the nerve ending. The parts and labels are not listed, so ask JLab for a description and photo before ordering.

How does botulinum toxin differ from tetanus toxin?
Both come from clostridia and block the release of neurotransmitters. Botulinum toxin acts at the neuromuscular junction and causes floppy paralysis; tetanus toxin travels to the spinal cord, blocks inhibitory nerve cells and causes rigid spasms.

Who manufactures this model?
JLab, the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, at its own works in Ambala, Haryana.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a biology lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The model is produced in JLab’s own works rather than traded, so colleges, dealers and importers buy it straight from the maker. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Paraguay in South America, Tunisia in North Africa, the Maldives in South Asia, the Czech Republic in Eastern Europe and Hong Kong in East Asia.
