What Is the Health and Medicine Minerals Set Used For?
The set turns a familiar question — where do the materials in medical products come from? — into a mineral identification lesson. A well-known class 10 science example is gypsum: when heated it becomes plaster of Paris, which doctors use to hold fractured bones in position. Selenite is a crystalline variety of gypsum, kaolin and fuller’s earth are fine clays, calcite is calcium carbonate, magnetite is a magnetic iron oxide and sulphur is a yellow non-metal, so students can also practise streak, lustre and magnet tests.
The specimens are for study and display only, not for eating or treatment. Avoid making dust from soft specimens such as sulphur and the clays, wash hands after handling and store the set dry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which minerals are in the set?
There are 10 specimen types; the listing names nine of them as examples, so ask for the full list with your quotation if you must match a syllabus or tender schedule.
Can these minerals be used as medicines?
No. They are raw teaching specimens that show which minerals are linked to health and medical uses, and they should never be taken internally.
Who manufactures this collection?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, assembles it at its Ambala works in Haryana, India, and quotes for it directly.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian maker of science and earth science teaching equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Its mineral sets are put together at its own works, not bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers deal with the manufacturer directly and repeat orders come from the same source. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Japan in East Asia, Slovakia in Eastern Europe, Oman in the Middle East, Sudan in North Africa and Uruguay in South America. Tender buyers can see the JLab lab tenders page.
