What Is the RNA Model Used For?
It is used to teach how genetic information passes from DNA to protein. In transcription a strand of DNA serves as the template for a new RNA strand. Messenger RNA (mRNA) then carries the copied code to the ribosome, where transfer RNA (tRNA) molecules bring the amino acid that matches each codon, so the sequence of bases is translated into a chain of amino acids.
