What Is the NOR Gate Trainer Used For?
It shows how inverting an OR gate changes its behaviour. An OR gate gives a HIGH output when any input is HIGH; adding the NOT stage reverses this, so a NOR gate gives a HIGH output only when every input is LOW. With the truth table printed on the model, a class can set each input combination, observe the output and tick it off against the table. Like NAND, the NOR gate is a universal gate — any other logic function can be built from NOR gates alone, and the model suits school, ITI, polytechnic and college electronics labs.
