Calibrating and Taking a Reading
Calibrate against the pH 4 and pH 7 standard solutions supplied with the meter, and add a pH 10 buffer when samples are alkaline; calibration at each point is automatic. Rinse the electrode with distilled water, dip it in the sample and read the LCD when the value settles. The meter samples about every 0.8 s, and the temperature compensation corrects the reading for sample temperature between 0 and 60 °C.
Care of the Pen
The body is waterproof to IP67, so it can be rinsed after use. When the electrode wears out it can be replaced without changing the meter. Four 1.5 V batteries power it.
