How Does It Compare with Other JLab Pipette Fillers?

ModelCapacity or sizeHow it works, as listed
This bulb filler (EL-SLE-4678)25 ml or 50 mlPlain red rubber bulb: squeeze, fit and release
Pipette Filler (Three Way 50ml)50 mlRed three-valve filler: one valve releases air, one draws liquid into the pipette and one releases the liquid
Pipette Bulb25 ml; small to extra super large sizesManual control of filling and discharge by finger pressure
Pipette Filler PumpNot statedThumb wheel draws up or dispenses liquid; releaser for quick emptying; resists acids and alkalis

Choose this plain bulb for simple filling at every student bench. The three-way filler gives valve control of filling and draining without lifting the filler off, and the pump-type filler suits users who want to set the meniscus with a thumb wheel.

What Is a Pipette Filler Bulb Used For?

Drawing liquid into a pipette by mouth is unsafe, so laboratories use a filler instead. In class 11 and 12 chemistry practicals the bulb is used to pipette a measured volume of acid, alkali or oxalic acid solution into a conical flask for titration, and in college and research labs it is used for any transfer with a bulb or graduated pipette. Using a filler also keeps saliva out of the sample and fumes away from the user.

To use it, squeeze the bulb to push out the air, fit it gently on the top of the pipette, then ease the pressure so the liquid rises a little above the mark. Remove the bulb and close the top with a fingertip to bring the meniscus down to the mark, then let the liquid run out. Do not let liquid enter the bulb; if it does, rinse the bulb with water and let it dry. Keep the rubber away from heat and strong solvents, and replace a bulb that has become sticky or cracked.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Capacity — 25 ml or 50 ml; many labs keep both for different pipette sizes.
  • Pipette size — if your pipettes have an unusually wide or narrow top, mention it so JLab can confirm the fit.
  • Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units; schools often order one bulb per student pair plus spares.
  • Pipettes — bulb or graduated pipettes can be added to the same enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a pipette filler bulb used for?
Filling and emptying a pipette without mouth suction. It is used in titrations and other measured transfers with glass or plastic pipettes.

Which capacities are available?
Two: 25 ml and 50 ml. The larger bulb pushes out more air in one squeeze, so it draws up a larger volume before you need to squeeze again.

Will it fit my pipettes?
It is made in a standard size for glass and plastic pipettes. If your pipettes have an unusual top diameter, ask JLab to confirm the fit before ordering.

How is it different from the three-way pipette filler?
This is a plain rubber bulb: you fill it, then remove it and use a fingertip to set the level. The three-way filler has three valves that release air, draw liquid up and let it out, so it stays on the pipette throughout.

What should I send for an export quotation?
The quantity of each capacity, the destination country and port or city, your preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling needs, and the tender reference if the order is for a tender.

Who manufactures this pipette filler?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it directly as the manufacturer.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of chemistry lab accessories and school science apparatus in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The bulb filler is produced at JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy it factory-direct, each bulb is visually inspected before it is packed, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and can ship to buyers in every region — for example Egypt in North Africa, Cambodia in Southeast Asia, Angola in Central Africa, Turkey in the Middle East and Romania in Eastern Europe. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
