What Is the PVC Tubing Used For?
The 3 mm size is the one for syringe pneumatics and hydraulics. When two syringes are joined by a length of tubing, pushing one plunger moves the other: filled with water, the set-up shows how a liquid passes pressure through a closed system, and filled with air it shows that a gas compresses before the second plunger moves. Syringe-and-tube systems like this are used to build hydraulic lifting arms and similar working models in technology class, and to introduce pressure in liquids and gases in middle-school science and Pascal’s law in class 11 physics. Because the PVC is clear, students can watch water or air bubbles moving through it. Five larger internal sizes, up to 12.5 mm with a 2.25 mm wall, are offered alongside the 3 mm tube.
