Ripple Tank Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-SLE-4716
Jlab Export is a leading Ripple Tank Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Ripple Tank (code EL-SLE-4716) sets up straight or circular ripples on a shallow layer of water so that students can watch the laws of waves in action, including refraction, diffraction and interference. It comes in 22 x 22 inch and 15 x 15 inch sizes as a complete assembly with vibrator, light source and power supply. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Ripple Tank Used For?
Water waves are slow and visible, which makes the ripple tank the standard way to show wave behaviour before students meet it in sound and light. The vibrator drives a straight dipper to make plane (rectilinear) waves or a point dipper to make circular ones, and the light above the tank throws a bright-and-dark image of the wavefronts onto a sheet or screen below. With barriers the class sees reflection; over a shallower region the waves slow down and change direction, which is refraction; passing through a narrow gap they spread out, which is diffraction; and two point sources produce an interference pattern of reinforcement and cancellation. These demonstrations support waves in class 11 physics and wave optics in class 12, introduce waves in middle-school science, and are used in college physics teaching.
Level the tank before filling it, use a shallow, even depth of water, and keep the power supply and lamp dry and away from splashes. Drain and dry the tank after the lesson.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Size — 22 x 22 inch for whole-class demonstration or 15 x 15 inch where bench space is limited.
- Mains supply — tell JLab the supply voltage in your country so the power supply is quoted to suit.
- Accessories — ask for the itemised list of the standard accessories supplied with the assembly.
- Quantity — minimum 10 units.
Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes is the ripple tank made in?
Two: 22 x 22 inch (about 559 mm square) and 15 x 15 inch (about 381 mm square).
What comes with it?
It is supplied as a complete assembly including the vibrator, a light source, a power supply and other standard accessories. Ask JLab for the full accessory list with your quotation.
Which wave effects can it show?
Straight and circular ripples, the laws of waves, and refraction, diffraction and interference.
Will the power supply suit our mains voltage?
The listing does not state the supply voltage. Give your country’s mains voltage in the enquiry so that JLab can confirm a suitable power supply.
Is a stroboscope included?
It is not mentioned in this listing. A stroboscope that makes moving waves appear still is listed separately and can be added to the order.
What should an export enquiry include?
The size and quantity, the destination country and port or city, the mains voltage, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, any packing or labelling needs, and a tender reference if there is one.
Who manufactures the ripple tank?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of physics demonstration apparatus and school and college lab equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The ripple tank is assembled in JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy it factory-direct, each tank is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders and spare parts are supplied by the manufacturer. The company is registered under CIN U29309HR2017PTC069123 and holds MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 (manufacturing enterprise). JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Malawi in East Africa, Greece in Southern Europe, New Zealand in Oceania, Tajikistan in Central Asia and Laos in Southeast Asia. Tender buyers can see the JLab lab tenders page.
Other Wave Demonstration Items
- Stroboscope — shows the stroboscopic effect, useful for “freezing” moving ripples.
- Wave Motion Machine, Plastic — demonstrates transverse and longitudinal wave motion with a hand crank.
- Slinky Spring — a steel spring for showing waves along a coil.
- Wave Motion — a wall chart on transverse and longitudinal waves.
