Ripple Tank Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-MI-4874
Jlab Export is a leading Ripple Tank Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Ripple Tank (code EL-MI-4874) is a wave demonstration apparatus that creates ripples on a water surface, in straight (rectilinear) or circular form, so that a physics class can watch the laws of waves and see refraction, diffraction and interference. It is offered in two tank sizes, 22 x 22 in and 15 x 15 in, and comes as a complete assembly with vibrator, light source and power supply. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with Other JLab Ripple Tanks?
| Model | Tank | Supplied with (as listed) |
|---|---|---|
| This ripple tank (EL-MI-4874) | 22 x 22 in or 15 x 15 in | Vibrator, light source, power supply and other standard accessories |
| Ripple Tank | 22 x 22 in or 15 x 15 in | Vibrator, light source and power supply — the same listed specification |
| Ripple Tank (economy system) | Tough moulded frame, sloping sides, large transparent viewing surface | Ripple motor on ripple bar, 6 V halogen lamp (needs a 12 V supply), hand stroboscope, barriers, dippers, perspex plates, reflector and controller |
| Ripple Tank for Overhead Projector | Heavy Plexiglas, for an overhead projector or table top | Electronically controlled vibrator, water tank, baffles and a wave stopper |
Choose this tank when you want a complete set in either the larger or the smaller size. The economy system lists every part, including a stroboscope, and the overhead-projector model suits classrooms that project the waves onto a screen.
What Is the Ripple Tank Used For?
A thin layer of water sits in the tray and the vibrator dips into the surface: a straight bar makes plane (rectilinear) waves and a single point makes circular waves. Light shining through the water throws the crests and troughs onto a screen or white paper as bright and dark bands, so students can see the wavefronts. Placing a sheet of glass or perspex under part of the water makes it shallower; the waves slow down there, their wavelength shortens and they change direction — refraction. A narrow gap between barriers shows diffraction, and two point sources show interference, with lines of calm water between the disturbed regions. Measuring the wavelength and knowing the vibrator frequency gives the wave speed from v = fλ, a core idea in class 11 physics wave topics and in college physics labs.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Tank size — 22 x 22 in for larger demonstrations or 15 x 15 in where bench space is limited.
- Mains supply — state your mains voltage so the power supply can be confirmed.
- Accessories — ask for the standard accessory list; add a stroboscope to freeze the pattern.
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes is the ripple tank available in?
Two: 22 x 22 in (about 56 x 56 cm) and 15 x 15 in (about 38 x 38 cm). State the size in your enquiry.
What is included with the tank?
It comes as a complete assembly with a vibrator, a light source, a power supply and other standard accessories. Ask JLab for the itemised accessory list with the quotation.
How does it differ from the other Ripple Tank listing?
The other Ripple Tank page lists the same two sizes and the same vibrator, light source and power supply; the economy ripple tank system is a different design with an itemised kit that includes a hand stroboscope.
Who manufactures this ripple tank?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) builds it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a physics demonstration and laboratory equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Ripple tanks are assembled at JLab’s own works, not bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy them factory-direct, each tank is inspected by eye before dispatch, and spares and repeat orders come from the same maker. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example the Maldives in South Asia, Jamaica in Central America and the Caribbean, Romania in Eastern Europe, Greece in Southern Europe and Uzbekistan in Central Asia. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
