What Is the Skin Model Used For?
It is a human biology model for lessons on the skin as an organ. Because the layers are set out in depth, students can see where the hair follicles, glands, receptors, blood vessels and nerves sit and connect each one to a job: sweat glands help regulate body temperature, sebaceous glands secrete sebum into the hair follicles, and receptors sense touch, heat, cold and pain.
