Where 3.3x and 90x Come From
The two figures in the name are the limits reached with auxiliary lenses. The 0.5x lens halves the 6.7x low end to 3.35x, rounded to 3.3x in the name and 3.4x in the range, and lengthens the working distance to 177 mm; the 2x lens doubles the 45x top end to 90x and shortens the working distance to 26 mm. Between those limits the zoom changes power continuously, and the parfocal body holds focus as it turns.
Recording Through the Camera Port
Because the head sends half the light to the eyepieces and half to the port, the user can watch through the eyepieces while the camera records. The camera and display give 1920 × 1080 live video at 60 frames per second and 5MP stills saved to the built-in SD card, with HDMI and USB 2.0 outputs that work at the same time.
