Infinity Optics and Contrast Methods
With ∞/0.17 objectives the image is formed at infinity, and a tube lens in the head brings it to focus. The parallel beam between them leaves space for an analyser or filters without disturbing parfocality across the five objectives. Dark field, phase contrast and polarizing kits are available as options, and the field diaphragm with graduated condenser iris gives the even Kohler lighting these methods start from.
Compared With the Standard Infinity Binocular
Against the Infinity Corrected Binocular Microscope, this stand adds a 20X objective on a five-place nosepiece, Kohler illumination with a field diaphragm, a 5W rather than 3W LED, 22 mm field eyepieces with eye guards and a larger 216 x 150 mm stage. Its eyepiece tubes also swivel up or down to set viewing height.
