Triple Scale DC Ammeter

Product Code : EL-GLE-8594
Jlab Export is a leading Triple Scale DC Ammeter Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Triple Scale DC Ammeter (code EL-GLE-8594) is a moving coil ammeter with three ranges — 0–50 mA, 0–500 mA and 0–5 A — for measuring direct current in school and college electricity practicals. It has a clear, easy-to-read face, colour coding and a plastic case mounted on a sturdy base, so it stands steady on the bench. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with Other JLab Ammeters?

AmmeterRangesOther details from each product page
Triple Scale DC Ammeter (EL-GLE-8594)0–50 mA, 0–500 mA, 0–5 AMoving coil; colour-coded; plastic case on a sturdy base
Ammeter Double range 0-1 and 0-5A DC JLab0–1 A, 0–5 AFully encased plastic body; 75 mm scale; ±2.5% accuracy; zero adjustment screw; overload protection
Milliammeters (Dual Range)Two milliampere ranges, from 0–1 mA up to 0–500 mAABS plastic desk stand

Choose the triple scale meter when one instrument has to cover both milliampere and ampere currents; the milliammeters are for low-current work only.

What Is the Triple Scale DC Ammeter Used For?

An ammeter is connected in series with the part of a circuit being studied and shows the current flowing through it. In a moving coil meter the current turns a coil in a magnetic field against a spring, so the pointer moves in proportion to the current; this type responds to direct current, and the connections must be made the right way round. Its three ranges let one meter read both a small current through an LED and the larger current drawn by a bulb or small motor. It is used for current–voltage work such as the Ohm’s law practical in class 10 science, for class 12 physics practicals and in college electricity labs, often alongside a voltmeter and a rheostat.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Number of ammeters, for example one per practical bench.
  • Voltmeters, rheostats or connecting wire — separate items that can be quoted on the same enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ranges does the Triple Scale DC Ammeter have?
Three: 0–50 mA, 0–500 mA and 0–5 A.

Can it measure alternating current?
No. It is a DC ammeter of the moving coil type, which is made for direct current.

How does it differ from the Triple Scale DC Voltmeter?
This meter measures current in series with the circuit; the voltmeter measures potential difference across a component, on 0–3 V, 0–15 V and 0–300 V ranges.

Who manufactures the Triple Scale DC Ammeter?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it as the manufacturer.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of electrical meters and school physics equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The meters are made at JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy direct from the maker, and repeat orders come from the same manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — Nigeria in West Africa, Nepal in South Asia, Romania in Eastern Europe, Panama in Central America and the Caribbean and Mexico in North America are some examples.
