What Is the Cell Mitosis Model Used For?
Mitosis divides one nucleus into two, each with the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell. In prophase the chromosomes condense and become visible; in metaphase they line up across the middle of the cell; in anaphase the two chromatids of each chromosome are pulled to opposite poles; and in telophase a nuclear envelope forms again around each set.
