What Is the Cellular Respiration Chart Used For?
Every living cell needs a steady supply of energy, and it gets it by breaking down food — mainly glucose — and storing the released energy in ATP. Aerobic respiration takes place in three linked stages. Glycolysis, in the cytoplasm, splits glucose into pyruvate and does not need oxygen. In the mitochondria, the Krebs cycle (also called the citric acid or TCA cycle) breaks the pyruvate down further, releasing carbon dioxide and loading hydrogen onto carrier molecules. The electron transport chain on the inner mitochondrial membrane then makes most of the ATP, with oxygen as the final acceptor that combines with hydrogen to form water. Overall: C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O + energy.
When oxygen is short, cells fall back on anaerobic pathways: muscle cells turn pyruvate into lactic acid, and yeast produces ethanol and carbon dioxide in fermentation. A large chart of the pathway helps students in class 10 life-processes lessons see the big picture, and helps class 11 and college biology students follow the stages step by step. The washable laminated surface lets a teacher highlight where carbon dioxide is released and ATP is made during a lesson.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 charts, each sold individually.
- Companion chart — a photosynthesis chart shows the reverse process, in which plants build glucose from carbon dioxide and water.
- Cell model — an animal cell model shows where the mitochondria sit in the cell.
- Print check — listed in English only; JLab can send a larger image of the current print.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which stages of respiration does the chart cover?
The listing does not itemise the panels. Glycolysis, the Krebs (TCA) cycle and the electron transport chain are the stages usually shown for this topic; ask JLab for a larger image of the current print to check the detail.
Which classes is it suitable for?
Class 10 lessons on life processes for the overall idea, and class 11 and college biology for the detailed pathway.
What is the difference between aerobic and anaerobic respiration?
Aerobic respiration uses oxygen and breaks glucose down completely to carbon dioxide and water, releasing much more energy. Anaerobic respiration happens without oxygen and gives lactic acid in muscles, or ethanol and carbon dioxide in yeast.
What is the chart made of?
130 gsm coated art paper, offset printed in full colour with CTP technology, laminated on both sides with 30 micron heat-sealable polyester. It measures 58 x 90 cm (about 22.8 x 35.4 in), weighs 228 g and rolls to 58 x 4 x 2 cm.
What should an export enquiry include?
Quantity, destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, packing or labelling needs and any tender reference.
Who supplies the Cellular Respiration chart?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd), Ambala, Haryana, supplies it and quotes for it directly.
Supplier
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Alongside the biology equipment and models it produces, JLab supplies this general science chart series, so a biology department can order wall charts, cell models and apparatus in one enquiry; charts are visually checked before packing. JLab holds GSTIN 06AADCJ9848D1ZE and Importer-Exporter Code 3317504552. It exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — Angola in Central Africa, Uzbekistan in Central Asia, Libya in North Africa, Guatemala in Central America and the Caribbean and Slovakia in Eastern Europe, for instance. Tender buyers can consult the JLab lab tenders page.
