How Does It Compare with Other JLab Circuit Breakers?
| Breaker | Rated current | Poles | Other details |
|---|---|---|---|
| This breaker (LH227/4-12) | 10 A | 1 | 6 kA; DIN rail; C curve |
| Circuit Breakers (model LH229/4-13) | 16 A | 1 | 6 kA; DIN rail; C curve |
| Circuit Breaker (model LH231/4-14) | 25 A | 1 | 6 kA; 35 mm DIN rail; C curve |
| Circuit Breaker (model LH240/4-17) | 16 A | 3 | Modular; for 3 phase |
This model has the lowest rating in the table; the 16 A and 25 A single-pole models take higher-current circuits, and the 3-pole model is the one for a three-phase supply.
What Does a Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breaker Do?
It protects the wiring and equipment on its circuit in two ways. The thermal element responds to a current that stays above the rating for some time, as in an overload, while the magnetic element trips almost at once on the much larger current of a short circuit. Unlike a fuse, the breaker is simply switched back on once the fault has been cleared.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the C curve mean?
It is the trip characteristic of the magnetic element, that is, how large a current, as a multiple of the rating, makes the breaker trip instantly. C-curve breakers are commonly used on general circuits whose loads draw a moderate current at switch-on.
What is the 6 kA rating?
The short-circuit interrupting capacity: the highest fault current the breaker is rated to break.
What should an export enquiry include?
The model and quantity, the destination country and port or city, and your delivery terms, such as FOB or CIF.
Who makes this circuit breaker?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd), at its own works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of laboratory, electronics and electrical items, incorporated in 2017 and located on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Its breakers are produced in-house instead of being sourced from traders, so dealers, importers and institutions buy direct from the manufacturer and place repeat orders with the same company. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Barbados in Central America and the Caribbean, the USA in North America, Botswana in Southern Africa, Hungary in Eastern Europe and Gabon in Central Africa.
