What Is the Wien Bridge Oscillator Trainer Used For?
The Wien bridge oscillator is a standard RC sine-wave circuit. A series resistor-capacitor arm and a parallel resistor-capacitor arm form the positive-feedback path of an amplifier; at one frequency the phase shift through this network is zero and, with equal component values, it returns one-third of the output, so an amplifier gain of three keeps the circuit oscillating. Negative feedback holds the gain at that value, which is why the circuit can give a clean sine wave. Students use the trainer to see how each part of this design contributes to the working oscillator.
Frequently Asked Questions
What sets the frequency of a Wien bridge oscillator?
The resistors and capacitors of the RC network. With equal resistors and equal capacitors the frequency is one divided by two pi times the product of R and C, so a larger resistance or capacitance gives a lower frequency.
Is this the same as the JLab Wien Bridge board?
No. This trainer is for the Wien bridge oscillator. The Wien Bridge board is for studying the bridge itself and measuring capacitance with the Wien series bridge and the Wien parallel bridge.
How does it differ from the Wien Bridge Oscillator using Operational Amplifier IC 741?
Here the student builds up the oscillator with patch-cord links. The IC 741 trainer is a panel instrument with a printed circuit diagram and the components mounted on the front panel, used to study the frequency and wave shape of the oscillator.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
The quantity, the destination country and the port or city of delivery, and the delivery terms you prefer, such as FOB or CIF.
Who manufactures this trainer?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and it quotes for the trainer directly.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of electronics trainers and laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The Wien bridge trainer is produced in JLab’s own works rather than bought in from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers order from the manufacturer and get repeat orders from the same source. The company holds MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 as a manufacturing enterprise and Importer-Exporter Code 3317504552. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Papua New Guinea in Oceania, Finland in Northern Europe, Italy in Southern Europe, Turkey in the Middle East and Ecuador in South America. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
