Jlab Export is a leading COD Digestion Apparatus Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
COD Digestion Apparatus (code EL-ELA-5485) is a solid-state block-heated COD digester for determining the chemical oxygen demand of water and wastewater samples in environmental, college and industrial laboratories. It digests 15 samples at a time in 38 mm diameter glass reaction vessels of 20 ml sample size at 150 °C ± 1 °C under digital temperature control. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the COD Digestion Apparatus Used For?
Chemical oxygen demand expresses how much oxygen would be needed to oxidise the organic and other oxidisable matter in a water sample with a strong chemical oxidant. In the widely used dichromate method the sample is digested with potassium dichromate in sulfuric acid at 150 °C, and the dichromate left over is then measured by titration or colorimetry to work out the COD. A block digester holds every vessel at the same controlled temperature, so a full set of samples and blanks can be run together. The apparatus serves effluent treatment plant laboratories, water-quality monitoring and pollution-control labs, and the environmental engineering and chemistry practicals of colleges and universities.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many samples can be digested at once?
15. The block has provision for 15 samples, and 15 glass reaction vessels are supplied with it.
At what temperature does it digest?
At 150 °C ± 1 °C, held by a digital temperature indicator-cum-controller.
What size are the reaction vessels?
Glass vessels of 38 mm diameter, taking a 20 ml sample.
How is COD different from BOD?
COD uses a chemical oxidant and a digestion of a few hours, while BOD measures the oxygen used by microorganisms over a longer incubation in a BOD incubator. Many laboratories run both on the same samples.
What power supply is needed?
220/230 V AC. The unit has an ON/OFF switch.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
Send the number of units, the destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, any packing or labelling needs and the tender reference if applicable.
Who manufactures the COD Digestion Apparatus?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an analytical and environmental laboratory equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The digester is built at JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so laboratories, colleges, dealers and importers buy from the maker, which also handles repeat orders. JLab exports worldwide and ships to every region — Iraq in the Middle East, Romania in Eastern Europe, Malaysia in Southeast Asia, Taiwan in East Asia and Norway in Northern Europe are examples. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
