Copper Constantan Thermocouple Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-SI-8058
Jlab Export is a leading Copper Constantan Thermocouple Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Copper Constantan Thermocouple (code EL-SI-8058) is a copper–constantan thermocouple for thermo-emf and temperature-measurement experiments in college physics and electrical labs. The couple is mounted on a Bakelite strip carried on a stand, with two terminals for connecting it to a millivoltmeter, galvanometer or potentiometer. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Copper Constantan Thermocouple Used For?
When the two junctions of copper and constantan are held at different temperatures, a small emf appears across the circuit (the Seebeck effect), and it grows with the temperature difference. Students use the thermocouple to plot thermo-emf against temperature: one junction is kept in melting ice, the other is heated in a water or oil bath beside a thermometer, and the emf is read on a sensitive millivoltmeter or balanced on a potentiometer. Copper–constantan is the pairing known in industry as Type T, valued for steady readings at moderate temperatures. Keep the junctions clean and avoid bending the wires sharply where they leave the strip.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the thermocouple mounted?
On a Bakelite strip fixed on a stand, with two terminals for the measuring leads.
What instrument reads its output?
The thermo-emf is only millivolts, so use a sensitive millivoltmeter or galvanometer, or a potentiometer for accurate balancing. These are separate catalogue items.
Who manufactures it?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) makes the thermocouple at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a physics lab instruments manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The thermocouple is assembled in JLab’s own works, so colleges, dealers and importers order direct from the maker, every piece is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — Kazakhstan in Central Asia, Slovenia in Southern Europe, Eswatini in Southern Africa, Costa Rica in Central America and the Caribbean and Guyana in South America, for example. Tender buyers can see the JLab lab tenders page.
Instruments for Thermocouple Experiments
- Special Water Bath — a brass-reservoir bath with a borosilicate beaker for heating a junction in water or oil.
- Potentiometer with Pencil Jockey — a constantan-wire potentiometer for balancing small emfs.
- Standard Cell — a stable voltage reference in a small steel cabinet for standardising potentiometers.
- Platinum Resistance Thermometer — another electrical temperature sensor, wound on a mica frame, for comparison experiments.
