What Is the CP Tuning Fork Used For?

Because each fork sounds one known frequency, teachers use it to tune a sonometer wire to unison and to find the first resonance length in a resonance-tube practical for the speed of sound in class 11 physics. Two forks of the same frequency show resonance: strike one and the other, nearby on a resonance box, starts to sound by itself. Two forks a little apart in frequency produce beats, and a small blob of wax on one prong lowers its frequency so students can hear the beat rate change. Store forks in a rack or box so the prongs cannot be bent.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does “CP” stand for?
In lab equipment catalogues CP normally means chrome-plated. Confirm the plating and base metal in your enquiry if they matter.

Which frequency is supplied?
The fork is available in various specifications, but the listing does not give the frequencies. State the note or frequency you need, and the quotation will confirm it.

How does it compare with the Welch Type Tuning Fork?
Both are single forks offered in various specifications. The Welch-type fork is made to that design pattern and listed for precise design; this CP fork is listed for its durable finish.

Who manufactures the CP Tuning Fork?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) makes it at its Ambala works and quotes directly as the manufacturer.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of physics lab apparatus, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. These forks come from JLab’s own works rather than a trading house, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy factory-direct, each piece is inspected visually before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the maker. JLab exports worldwide and can ship to any region; Ukraine in Eastern Europe, the USA in North America, Japan in East Asia, Tajikistan in Central Asia and Germany in Western Europe are examples. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
