What Is the Dicot Stem TS Model Used For?
A young sunflower stem cut across shows, from the outside in, a hairy epidermis, a few layers of collenchyma, the cortex, a starch-rich endodermis and the pericycle, then a ring of vascular bundles around a large central pith. Each bundle is conjoint, collateral and open: xylem towards the centre, phloem towards the outside and a strip of cambium between them. This ring of bundles separates a dicot stem from a monocot stem, whose bundles are scattered.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the cambium in the bundles matter?
It can divide to add new xylem and phloem, which is how dicot stems later grow in thickness. Monocot bundles lack it and are called closed.
How does it differ from the Dicotyledon Stem Model?
The Dicotyledon Stem Model is a plastic model of a one-year sunflower stem in cross, radial and tangential sections, with a diagram; this one is a transverse section on a board with a numbered key card.
What should an export enquiry include?
The number of models, the destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, and any tender reference.
Who manufactures the Dicot Stem TS?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
