How the Stay-Open Valve Helps
Once the push plate or a lever opens the ball valve, it stays open without being held. Both hands are then free to hold the eyelids apart so water reaches the whole eye, and the rinse can continue for as long as needed. The foot lever lets someone with contaminated hands start the flow without touching the unit. After any rinse, the person should get medical attention.
Siting and Routine Checks
Connect the unit to a clean water supply and mount it near the benches where chemicals are handled, with the way to it kept clear. Run it briefly at regular intervals to flush standing water from the pipe and confirm that every control opens the valve.
