Jlab Export is a leading Fold Mountain Model Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Fold Mountain Model (code EL-ERAM-4408) is a geography and geology teaching model of fold mountains — mountains formed mainly by uplift and folding of layers in the upper part of the Earth’s crust. Because fold mountains are usually built from sedimentary rocks, the model links landform lessons with rock-type lessons. It is manufactured by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Fold Mountain Model Used For?
Most fold mountains begin as layers of sediment laid down in a sea. When plates converge, the layers are squeezed sideways, buckling into up-folds (anticlines) and down-folds (synclines) and rising into long ranges — which is why fossils of sea creatures can be found high in mountains such as the Himalayas. The Himalayas and the Alps are young fold mountains with high, rugged peaks, while the Aravalli range in India is one of the oldest fold mountain systems and has been worn down over time.
Teachers use the model for the major landforms chapter in class 6 geography, for mountain building and plate movement in class 11 physical geography, and in college geology. It pairs well with an anticline and syncline model to show the folds themselves, and with a convergent plate boundary model to show the forces behind them.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are fold mountains formed?
Mainly by uplift and folding of rock layers in the upper crust, usually where plates push towards each other and compress the layers between them.
Why are fold mountains usually made of sedimentary rock?
Sedimentary rocks form in flat layers, often on the sea floor, and these layered sequences are what buckle into folds when compressed.
Are there older and younger fold mountains?
Yes. Young ranges such as the Himalayas are high and steep; old ranges such as the Aravallis have been lowered and rounded by long erosion.
What are the minimum order and lead time?
Ten units minimum, usually dispatched within 7–10 working days, plus transit time for export orders.
