What Is the Fractures Chart Used For?
The first thing a learner needs to tell apart is the type of fracture. In a simple, or closed, fracture the bone is broken but the skin over it is intact; in a compound, or open, fracture the skin is broken over the injury and the bone may show, so there is a risk of infection as well as blood loss. The general first-aid response is the same in outline: keep the casualty still, support the injured part in the position found, cover any wound with a clean dressing without pressing on the bone, immobilise the limb with padding, a sling or a splint, check circulation beyond the injury and get medical help.
The chart puts these ideas on the wall for first-aid courses, school and college health education, NCC, scout and guide training and sports or workplace safety sessions. It is a teaching aid: practise the slings and splints hands-on, and follow the guidance of a current first-aid course where it differs from older material. Clean the laminated face with a damp cloth and roll the chart up on its rollers when it is not in use.

Which bones and treatments are shown?
The listing does not name them. Ask JLab for a current image of the chart if your course plan depends on particular injuries being included.
