Friction

Product Code : EL-PC-2920
Jlab Export is a leading Friction Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Friction (code EL-PC-2920) is a printed physics wall chart on friction, the force that opposes sliding or rolling between surfaces in contact, for school science lessons and friction practicals. The 58 x 90 cm chart is offset printed in full colour on 130 gsm coated art paper, has a markable, washable polyester-laminated surface and hangs from plastic rollers. JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, Ambala, India) supplies it to schools, colleges and dealers.

What Is the Friction Chart Used For?

Friction acts wherever two surfaces touch and one tends to slide or roll over the other, and it always opposes that relative motion. It comes from the tiny irregularities of the surfaces, so it depends on how rough they are and how hard they are pressed together. Static friction, which has to be overcome to start an object moving, is greater than sliding friction, and rolling friction is smaller still — the reason wheels and ball bearings make loads easier to move. Friction is useful, letting us walk, grip a pen and stop a bicycle, but it also wears parts and wastes energy as heat, so machines are lubricated and vehicles are streamlined to cut the drag of air or water.

Friction is a standard middle-school science topic and returns in class 11 physics, where the coefficient of friction is defined as the friction force divided by the normal reaction. Teachers often hang the chart near a friction table, wooden blocks and an inclined plane so that students can measure what it explains. The listing does not describe the printed panels; ask for a preview image if you need to see them.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Charts required — the minimum order is 10 units.
  • Practical apparatus — a friction table, wooden friction blocks and an inclined plane are separate items.
  • Other mechanics charts — Force and Motion come from the same series.
  • Delivery — destination country, port or city and preferred delivery terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is any friction apparatus included?
No, the listing is the chart alone. The friction table, wooden blocks and inclined plane linked below can be added to the same enquiry.

What does the Friction chart show?
Its subject is friction, but the listing does not describe the panels. A preview image is available on request so you can check the diagrams against your syllabus.

Can students write on it?
Yes. Both sides are laminated with 30 micron heat-sealable polyester, and the surface is markable and washable, so notes can be wiped off after the lesson.

What size, weight and language?
58 x 90 cm overall, 228 g, about 58 x 4 x 2 cm when rolled, printed in English only on 130 gsm coated art paper with CTP offset printing.

Who supplies the Friction chart?
