L. Moulds (Brass) Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-ELA-5492
Jlab Export is a leading L. Moulds (Brass) Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
L. Moulds (Brass) (code EL-ELA-5492) are L-shaped brass embedding moulds, used in pairs to cast paraffin blocks for microtome sectioning in histology, pathology and botany labs. Moving the two L pieces changes the block size, and three sizes are listed, from 37 x 25 x 15 mm to 75 x 30 x 19 mm. They are made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Are L Moulds Used For?
Before tissue can be cut on a microtome it is embedded in paraffin wax, which supports it while thin sections are sliced. Two L-shaped pieces set facing each other on a flat base form a rectangular frame; sliding them closer together or further apart sets the size of the block, so one pair can produce blocks to suit small or larger specimens. Brass conducts heat well, which helps the molten wax set evenly, and the moulds can be reused block after block. L moulds are standard equipment in histology, pathology and plant anatomy teaching labs at colleges and universities and in research laboratories.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Size — 37 x 25 x 15 mm, 50 x 25 x 15 mm or 75 x 30 x 19 mm.
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
- Embedding equipment — a paraffin embedding bath or paraffin dispenser can be quoted on the same enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are brass L moulds used for?
They form the frame in which paraffin blocks are cast for microtome sectioning. The two L pieces are adjusted to give the block size needed for the specimen.
Which sizes are available?
Three sizes are listed: 37 x 25 x 15 mm, 50 x 25 x 15 mm and 75 x 30 x 19 mm.
Why are embedding moulds made of brass?
Brass is a good conductor of heat, so wax in contact with it cools and sets evenly, and the metal stands up to repeated contact with molten paraffin without rusting.
What should an export enquiry include?
The size and quantity, the destination country and port or city, your delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling needs and any tender reference.
Who manufactures these L moulds?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes them at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a histology, biology and general laboratory equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The moulds are produced at JLab’s own works and not bought from a trader, so colleges, laboratories, dealers and importers buy them factory-direct, each one is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. JLab is registered for GST under GSTIN 06AADCJ9848D1ZE and carries Legal Entity Identifier 549300DTGS77DGYD6N03. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region; Turkmenistan in Central Asia, Qatar in the Middle East, Samoa in Oceania, Benin in West Africa and Sweden in Northern Europe are a few examples. Tender buyers can see the JLab lab tenders page.
Embedding and Sectioning Equipment
- Paraffin Embedding Bath — a thermostat-controlled bath that keeps paraffin molten in covered pots during infiltration and embedding.
- Paraffin Dispenser — a double-walled stainless steel bath that keeps wax molten and ready to dispense while blocks are embedded.
- Microtome Object Holder — a set of three holders that grip embedded blocks on rotary microtomes.
- Rotary Microtome — a bench microtome for thin, evenly spaced sections of embedded specimens.
- Sliding Microtome — a sliding microtome for paraffin and celloidin embedded specimens.
