What Is the Paschimottanasana and Ardha Matsyendrasana Chart Used For?
The two asanas move the spine in different ways, which is why teachers often pair them in one seated sequence. Paschimottanasana — the name refers to stretching the “western”, or back, side of the body — is done sitting with the legs straight, folding forward from the hips towards the feet. Ardha Matsyendrasana, named after the yogi Matsyendranath, is a seated twist: one foot is placed outside the opposite knee and the trunk turns towards the bent knee. A chart on the wall lets the teacher show the starting position and the finished shape to the whole group at once, and students can check it between attempts instead of crowding round a book.
Remind students to bend from the hips and turn gradually rather than forcing either posture, and to check with a doctor or qualified yoga teacher first if they have a back problem or other health condition. The laminated surface can be wiped with a damp cloth; roll the chart up when it is not on display.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which asanas does this chart cover?
The listing names Paschimottanasana, the seated forward bend, and Ardha Matsyendrasana, the half spinal twist. If you need to know every figure printed on the current edition, ask JLab for an image before ordering.
How big is the chart and how is it finished?
It is 50 x 75 cm, laminated with thick plastic film on both sides and fitted with plastic rollers for hanging.
Is there a Hindi version?
Yes, as a combined English and Hindi chart. An English-only version is also listed.
Is the chart suitable for school PE lessons?
Yes. It is a visual teaching aid for demonstrating the postures to a group; students should still practise under a teacher’s guidance and should not force the stretch.
What should an overseas buyer send for a quotation?
The quantity for each language version, the destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, and any labelling or tender requirements.
