What Is the Bhujangasan, Shalbhasan, Dhanurasan and Mayurasan Chart Used For?
Three of the postures on this chart are backbends performed lying face down, and they are usually taught as a group. In Bhujangasan, the cobra, the palms rest beside the chest and the back muscles lift the upper body. Shalbhasan, the locust, lifts the legs instead, while Dhanurasan, the bow, joins the two movements: the hands hold the ankles and the chest and thighs rise together so the body curves like a drawn bow. Mayurasan, the peacock, is different — an arm balance in which the hands are placed on the floor with the fingers pointing towards the feet, the elbows press into the abdomen and the whole body is held horizontal. Teachers use the chart to show each final position clearly to a class and to explain the order in which the postures are built up.
The chart is a teaching aid rather than medical advice. Backbends should be developed gradually, and Mayurasan, which puts strong pressure on the abdomen, is an advanced posture to be learned only from a trained teacher; students with a back problem or other health condition should take a doctor’s advice first. A seated forward bend is a common counter-pose after this group. Wipe the laminated chart clean with a damp cloth and roll it for storage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which asanas does this chart cover?
Four: Bhujangasan (cobra pose), Shalbhasan (locust pose), Dhanurasan (bow pose) and Mayurasan (peacock pose).
Are all four postures suitable for school students?
The cobra, locust and bow are widely taught in school yoga when built up gradually. Mayurasan is an advanced arm balance and should only be attempted under a trained teacher; students with health conditions should follow medical advice.
How are the postures usually sequenced?
The three face-down backbends are usually taught together, from Bhujangasan (cobra) and Shalbhasan (locust) to Dhanurasan (bow), which combines both movements. A seated forward bend is a common counter-pose afterwards.
What are the size, finish and language options?
50 x 75 cm, laminated with thick plastic film on both sides, fitted with plastic rollers, in a combined English and Hindi version or in English only.
What is the minimum order and how long does dispatch take?
10 units minimum, each sold individually; dispatch is usually within 7–10 working days after visual inspection. Export shipping time depends on the destination.
What should be included in an export enquiry?
The number of charts per language, the destination country and port or city, the delivery terms required (FOB, CIF or similar), and any tender reference or labelling needs.
Who manufactures the chart?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of classroom charts and laboratory equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The chart is made in JLab’s own works rather than sourced through a trader, so schools, yoga institutes, distributors and importers buy direct from the manufacturer, every chart is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are met by the same works. JLab exports worldwide and serves buyers across every region — Botswana in Southern Africa, the UAE in the Middle East, Guatemala in Central America and the Caribbean, Tunisia in North Africa and Sri Lanka in South Asia, for example. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
