Photosynthesis Apparatus

Product Code : EL-PE-7567
Jlab Export is a leading Photosynthesis Apparatus Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Photosynthesis Apparatus (code EL-PE-7567) is a plant physiology apparatus for measuring and collecting the gas given off by aquatic plants during photosynthesis. The gas is measured in a calibrated capillary tube and can be drawn off for analysis with the plastic syringes; the parts are mounted on a 190 mm x 150 mm plastic panel. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Photosynthesis Apparatus Used For?

Counting bubbles from a water plant shows that photosynthesis is happening, but it is not a measurement. This apparatus turns the bubble count into a volume: the gas released by a sprig of an aquatic plant such as Hydrilla or Elodea, usually kept in water containing a little sodium hydrogen carbonate as a carbon dioxide source, is collected and read off the calibrated capillary tube. Repeating the reading with the lamp at different distances, at different temperatures or with different carbon dioxide levels gives students real data on the factors affecting photosynthesis, a topic in class 10 life processes and class 11 photosynthesis in higher plants, and a common experiment in college plant physiology. Because the gas can be drawn off with a syringe, students can also test it — it is mainly oxygen, which relights a glowing splint when enough is collected.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Quantity — minimum 10 units; one per student group is a practical plan for a class experiment.
  • Extra plastic syringes — mention them in your enquiry if you want spares.
  • Related kits or charts to complete a photosynthesis practical.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the gas measured?
In the calibrated capillary tube. The gas collected from the plant is read against the calibration, and the plastic syringes let you draw it off for analysis.

Which plants can be used?
Aquatic plants, as the apparatus is designed for gas evolved by water plants. Hydrilla and Elodea are common school choices; the plant is not supplied with the apparatus.

What size is the panel?
The apparatus is mounted on a plastic panel measuring 190 mm x 150 mm.

Who manufactures this apparatus?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd), at its own works in Ambala, Haryana, India.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a plant physiology apparatus and biology lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The apparatus is assembled in JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy from the maker, and repeat orders come from the same source. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Germany in Western Europe, Croatia in Southern Europe, Rwanda in East Africa, Vanuatu in Oceania and the USA in North America. Tender buyers can consult the JLab lab tenders page.
