What Is the Photosynthesis Teaching Model Used For?

The biochemistry of photosynthesis in class 11 — photolysis, the two photosystems, photophosphorylation and the Calvin cycle — is hard to picture from a textbook diagram. On this board the teacher can show the sequence as a series of events. Light energy excites chlorophyll; water is split, releasing oxygen, hydrogen ions and electrons; in non-cyclic phosphorylation the electrons pass through both photosystems and the cell makes ATP and NADPH, while in cyclic phosphorylation electrons return to photosystem I and only ATP is formed. The dark reaction then uses that ATP and NADPH to fix carbon dioxide into sugar. Working through the demonstrations in order helps students see why the light-dependent and light-independent stages depend on each other.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Quantity — at least 10 units.
  • Board size and the parts supplied, if your tender lists them — ask JLab to confirm.
  • Practical apparatus or charts to pair with the model.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can be demonstrated with this model?
Four demonstrations covering a photon exciting chlorophyll, the light and dark reactions, cyclic and non-cyclic phosphorylation, the splitting of water and the reduction of NADP+ to NADPH, all on one demonstration board.

What is the difference between cyclic and non-cyclic phosphorylation?
Non-cyclic phosphorylation involves both photosystems and produces ATP and NADPH, with oxygen released from water. Cyclic phosphorylation involves only photosystem I, recycles its electrons and produces ATP alone.

Is a photograph or size available?
This listing has no photograph or dimensions. Ask JLab for the board size, the parts supplied and a picture before you order.

Who manufactures it?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of biology teaching models and laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The demonstration board is produced in JLab’s own works rather than sourced from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy direct from the maker and reorder from the same team. For supplier registration, the company’s GSTIN is 06AADCJ9848D1ZE and its Legal Entity Identifier is 549300DTGS77DGYD6N03. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Lithuania in Northern Europe, South Africa in Southern Africa, Nepal in South Asia, Singapore in Southeast Asia and the USA in North America. Tender buyers can refer to the JLab lab tenders page.
