What Is the Postnatal Assessment Simulator Used For?
It is used to practise the two hands-on parts of a postnatal check: feeling the abdomen to judge how far the uterus has returned towards its non-pregnant size, and looking at the perineum for healing of a tear or an episiotomy. The interchangeable wound pads allow the practice to be repeated on the same model.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is uterine involution?
The return of the uterus to its non-pregnant size after birth. The top of the uterus (the fundus) sinks a little lower each day, and it can usually no longer be felt above the pubic bone after about two weeks.
How does it differ from the Antenatal Assessment Simulator?
Both are life-size JLab simulators with a palpable uterus for fundal height work, made of medical-grade, non-toxic, latex-free material. This one is a female pelvic region for checks after birth; the antenatal simulator is a pregnant abdomen for palpation, fetal heart monitoring and fundal height measurement during pregnancy.
How is the simulator cleaned?
It is waterproof and can be cleaned with standard disinfectants.
What should an export enquiry include?
The number of simulators, the destination country and port or city, the delivery terms you prefer (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling requirements and, for a tender, its reference.
Who manufactures the postnatal simulator?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes the JL131 under its own brand at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of midwifery and nursing simulators, anatomy models and laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The JL131 is produced in JLab’s own works and not traded in from elsewhere, so colleges, schools, dealers and importers order direct from the maker. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Slovenia in Southern Europe, Malawi in East Africa, the Maldives in South Asia, Iceland in Northern Europe and DR Congo in Central Africa. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
