Optics for Hot and Humid Rooms
Lenses kept in warm, damp air can grow mould that clouds the image. In this series the optical parts of the viewing head and the objectives carry anti-mould protection, which suits teaching and laboratory rooms in hot, humid climates.
Stage, Nosepiece and Condenser
The 142 x 140 mm double plate mechanical stage and the inward quadruple nosepiece both move on ball bearings. The objectives are parfocal, so the image stays close to focus when the power is changed. The three-lens Abbe condenser (N.A. 1.25) moves on rack and pinion, with an iris diaphragm and filters to set illumination and contrast.
Eyepieces, Lamp and Options
Semi plan objectives of 4X, 10X, 40X SL and 100X SL oil are paired with WF 10X and WF 15X eyepieces. The white LED has an intensity regulator; a 6 V, 20 W halogen lamp and 110 V operation are options, as are plan achromatic objectives with a Siedentopf head.
