Choosing the Observation Head
Each head is inclined at 45 degrees and rotates through 360 degrees, so the eyepieces can face the user from either side of the bench. A monocular head keeps the stand simple, a binocular head lets the user view with both eyes, and a trinocular head adds a third tube for a camera. As the heads are interchangeable, the stand can take a different head later.
Stage, Condenser and Lighting
The low coaxial controls move the slide along both axes over an 80 x 50 mm range, and graduations with verniers let a position be noted and found again. The Abbe condenser (N.A. 1.25) rises and falls on rack and pinion and carries an iris diaphragm and filter holder. A solid-state electronic knob on the built-in transformer sets the brightness of the halogen lamp in the base.
Objective Sets and Magnification
Objectives come as achromatic, semi plan or DIN-size semi plan sets of 4X, 10X, 40X SL and 100X SL oil, on the quadruple revolving nosepiece. With the WF 10X eyepieces they give 40X, 100X, 400X and 1000X.
