Static Electricity

Product Code : EL-PC-2905
Jlab Export is a leading Static Electricity Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Static Electricity (code EL-PC-2905) is a physics wall chart on electric charges at rest — how objects become charged and how charges attract and repel — for electrostatics lessons from middle school to class 12. The chart is 58 x 90 cm, offset printed in full colour on 130 gsm coated art paper, laminated on both sides with polyester and fitted with plastic rollers. JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, Ambala, India) supplies it to schools, colleges and dealers.

What Is the Static Electricity Chart Used For?

There are two kinds of electric charge, positive and negative: like charges repel and unlike charges attract. Rubbing two materials together transfers electrons from one to the other, so a glass rod rubbed with silk becomes positively charged and a plastic or ebonite rod rubbed with fur or wool becomes negatively charged. Objects can also be charged by conduction (touching a charged body) and by induction (bringing one near). An electroscope detects charge, and lightning is the same effect on a huge scale — a discharge between clouds, or between a cloud and the ground, which a lightning conductor carries safely to earth.

Students meet charges and lightning in middle-school science and return to them in the class 12 physics chapter on electric charges and fields. Electrostatic experiments work most reliably on dry days, because moisture in the air lets charge leak away, so a wall chart helps keep the lesson on track when the demonstrations are reluctant. The listing does not describe which diagrams are printed, so request a preview image if you need to check them.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • How many charts — at least 10 units.
  • Electrostatics apparatus — electroscopes, an electrophorus and a Van de Graaff generator are listed separately.
  • Companion electricity charts — Current Electricity and Electric Current - Sources - Effects come from the same series.
  • Consignment details — destination country, port or city, and the delivery terms you would like quoted.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Static Electricity chart teach?
Its topic is electric charge at rest. The listing does not detail the panels, so if you need to know whether charging by friction, induction, the electroscope or lightning is drawn, ask for a preview image.

Is an electroscope supplied with it?
No. The listing covers the chart only. Gold leaf and pith ball electroscopes are separate items that can be added to the same quotation.

What size is the chart?
58 x 90 cm overall, weighing 228 g. It rolls to about 58 x 4 x 2 cm for shipping.

Can the surface be written on and wiped?
Yes. The 30 micron heat-sealable polyester lamination on both sides gives a markable, washable surface.

In which language is it printed?
English only, in full colour, using offset printing with CTP technology on 130 gsm coated art paper.

Who supplies the Static Electricity chart?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) of Ambala, Haryana, India supplies this chart and sends quotations directly.

Supplier

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a company incorporated in 2017 on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. It makes laboratory and teaching equipment, including physics apparatus, and supplies printed science charts too, so electrostatics apparatus and this chart can be ordered together. Before dispatch, each chart is visually inspected. JLab exports worldwide and can ship to buyers in every region — for example the Maldives in South Asia, Uzbekistan in Central Asia, Sierra Leone in West Africa, Iraq in the Middle East and Taiwan in East Asia. For tender enquiries, see the lab tenders page.
