Steam Engine

Product Code : EL-PC-2934
Jlab Export is a leading Steam Engine Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Steam Engine (code EL-PC-2934) is a physics wall chart on the steam engine — the external combustion engine that drove mills, railways and ships — for heat-engine and history-of-technology lessons in schools, ITIs and colleges. The 58 x 90 cm chart is offset printed in full colour, laminated on both sides with polyester film and fitted with plastic rollers. JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, Ambala, India) supplies it to schools, colleges and dealers.

What Is the Steam Engine Chart Used For?

In a steam engine the fuel burns outside the cylinder. A furnace heats water in a boiler, and the high-pressure steam does the work: a slide valve lets steam in first on one side of the piston and then on the other, so the piston is pushed to and fro, and the piston rod, connecting rod and crank turn that motion into rotation. A heavy flywheel evens out the turning, and a centrifugal governor can hold the speed steady. James Watt’s separate condenser, which cooled the used steam outside the working cylinder, made the engine far more efficient and helped steam power the Industrial Revolution. The idea survives in power stations, where steam turbines driven by coal or nuclear heat still generate much of the world’s electricity.

The chart suits class 11 physics lessons on thermodynamics, where the steam engine is the classic heat engine that takes in heat, does work and rejects the rest, as well as ITI and mechanical engineering courses and history-of-science projects. Hung beside the Petrol Engine chart, it lets students compare external and internal combustion. The listing does not describe the artwork, so ask JLab for a preview image if you want to check the labelled parts first.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • How many charts — a minimum of 10 units.
  • A working model — the Steam Engine Model shows the mechanism in three dimensions.
  • Companion charts — Petrol Engine, Work and Power or Electric Generator from the same series.
  • Shipping information — destination, delivery terms and any labelling or tender reference.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Steam Engine chart show?
The steam engine and how steam pressure is turned into motion. The diagrams themselves are not described in the listing, so JLab can send a preview image on request.

Which part of the physics syllabus does it support?
Heat engines in class 11 thermodynamics, and wider discussion of efficiency, external combustion and the history of energy use.

How is it different from the Petrol Engine chart?
Both share the same 58 x 90 cm laminated format. The steam engine burns its fuel outside the cylinder to raise steam, while the petrol engine burns fuel inside the cylinder.

How is the chart finished?
It is offset printed in full colour with CTP technology on 130 gsm coated paper and laminated both sides with 30 micron heat-sealable polyester, so the surface is markable and washable.

What are the weight and rolled size?
It weighs 228 g and rolls on its plastic rollers to about 58 x 4 x 2 cm, which keeps parcels small.

Is a Hindi version available?
No. The chart is listed in English only.

Who supplies the Steam Engine chart?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab), Ambala, Haryana, India, supplies it and issues quotations directly.

Supplier

Behind the JLab name is Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a company incorporated in 2017 on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. JLab offers its own physics apparatus and engine models and also supplies printed charts like this one, which lets a physics department buy the model and the matching wall chart from one source. Each chart is visually checked before dispatch. JLab sells worldwide and ships to every region — Poland in Eastern Europe, Botswana in Southern Africa, South Korea in East Asia, DR Congo in Central Africa and Iraq in the Middle East are examples of markets it can serve. Institutions buying by tender can see the JLab tenders page.

Heat Engine Models and Related Charts

  • Steam Engine Model — a physics lab model that displays the mechanism and components of a steam engine.
  • Petrol Engine — the internal combustion engine chart in the same series.
  • Work and Power — a chart on how much work a force does and how quickly it is done.
  • Nuclear Reactor — a chart on a reactor whose heat raises steam to drive a turbine.
  • Electric Generator — a chart on turning mechanical energy into electrical energy.
