Greasing the Glass Key
A glass key needs a thin film of stopcock grease to turn smoothly and seal. Wipe the key and barrel clean, smear a little grease on the key away from the bore, then seat the key and turn it until the film is spread evenly. Too much grease can narrow the bore or travel into the liquid.
