Condensers, Liebig (code EL-C-1601) are straight water-cooled condensers: a plain inner tube runs through a jacket of flowing water, and the vapour condenses on its wall. Connecting the Cooling Water
Water enters at the lower inlet and leaves from the upper outlet, so the jacket fills completely and the coldest water meets the vapour last, just before the distillate runs out. For distillation the condenser slopes down from the still head; stood upright on a flask, it serves for reflux.
Lengths and Item References
The 60 mm item with B10 joints fits small flasks, while the 400 mm items give a longer cooling path and come with B19, B24 or B29 joints. Each size has its own item reference, for example CL20/22 for 200 mm with B19 joints, which identifies it when you order.
