When Air Cooling Is Enough
With no jacket and no hoses, the vapour gives up its heat through the glass wall to the room. That suits liquids with a high boiling point, which condense readily on a cool surface; a low-boiling solvent would escape and needs a water-cooled condenser such as the Liebig.
Choosing a Size
Cooling capacity follows surface area, from 30 cm² on the shortest tube to 500 cm² on the B29 model. The model with a B19 socket and a B24 cone joins a B24 flask neck to B19 glassware above it.
