Fitting It for Reflux
Stand the condenser upright in the neck of a boiling flask; vapour condenses on the bulbs and drips back, so the solvent returns to the flask instead of boiling away. Cooling water goes into the lower inlet and out of the upper outlet, keeping the jacket full. Screw-thread water connections can replace the standard ones: ask for the /T version.
Cone-Only or Socket-and-Cone
The 200 mm models fit flask necks from B19 to B50; five give 130 cm² of surface and the B50 model 150 cm². The 300 mm model, at 180 cm², adds a B24 socket for joining a further piece above it.
