The Lever

Product Code : EL-PC-2893
Jlab Export is a leading The Lever Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

The Lever (code EL-PC-2893) is a laminated 58 x 90 cm physics chart on the lever — a rigid bar that turns about a fixed point called the fulcrum — for lessons on the classes of lever and the principle of moments in school and college physics rooms. It is printed in full colour on coated art paper, sealed on both faces with polyester film and hung from plastic rollers. JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, Ambala, India) supplies it to schools, colleges and dealers.

What Is the Lever Chart Used For?

Every lever has three points: the fulcrum it turns about, the effort that is applied and the load it moves. The order of those three points gives the classes of lever. In a first-class lever the fulcrum sits between effort and load, as in a see-saw or a crowbar; in a second-class lever the load is in the middle, as in a wheelbarrow or a nutcracker; and in a third-class lever the effort is in the middle, as in a pair of tongs or the human forearm. When a lever is balanced, effort multiplied by the effort arm equals load multiplied by the load arm — the principle of moments. It is part of the machines chapter in ICSE class 10 physics and comes back in class 11 physics with rotational equilibrium.

Teachers often pair the chart with a graduated wooden lever balanced on a knife edge, so students can hang masses, measure both arms and test the principle themselves. The surface carries 30 micron heat-sealable polyester on both sides and is listed as markable and washable, so arms and forces can be labelled during the practical and cleaned off afterwards.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Quantity — 10 units or more of this title.
  • Preview — the printed examples are not listed, so ask for an image if they matter to your scheme of work.
  • Lever apparatus — a wooden lever with weights or a lever kit for pupils; both are separate items.
  • Companion chart — Simple Machine, for pulleys, inclined planes and the other machines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the chart cover all three classes of lever?
The classes of lever are the core of this topic, but the listing does not detail the diagrams on the chart. Ask JLab for a preview image to confirm what is printed.

Which syllabus is it suitable for?
Secondary physics lessons on machines and moments, such as the machines chapter of ICSE class 10, and the rotational equilibrium work of class 11.

Can it be written on?
Yes. The lamination is listed as markable and washable; check with JLab which markers suit it.

What are the size, weight and rolled size?
58 x 90 cm overall, 228 g, and 58 x 4 x 2 cm when rolled on its plastic rollers.

Is it available in Hindi?
No, only in English.

Are the lever and weights included?
No. This listing is for the chart only; the wooden lever, lever kit and demonstration lever balance are separate items linked below.

Who supplies The Lever chart?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — of Ambala, Haryana, India.

Supplier

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an educational lab equipment company incorporated in 2017 with its base on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Next to its own range of physics apparatus it supplies printed charts such as The Lever, so a school can order the chart and the lever practical together; each chart gets a visual check before dispatch. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Mexico in North America, Botswana in Southern Africa, Tunisia in North Africa, Lithuania in Northern Europe and Malaysia in Southeast Asia. Tender information is on the lab tenders page.

Lever Practicals and Related Charts

  • Wooden Lever — a centimetre-graduated lever balanced on a knife-edge fulcrum, supplied with weights.
  • Lever Kit — plywood beams, fulcrums and matched metal blanks for pupils’ own experiments.
  • Demonstration Lever Balance — links lever-arm length to moment of force.
  • Simple Machine — the companion chart on the other simple machines.
  • Wheel and Axle Physics — apparatus for mechanical advantage, a close relative of the lever.

More titles are in Physics Charts and the full Charts range.
