Rotating Nosepiece and Tension Collar
The objective pairs are changed by turning the nosepiece through 90 degrees, a quarter turn that brings the 2X or the 4X set into the light path. Focus is by rack and pinion, and the adjustable tension collar sets how stiffly it moves, so the head stays where it was focused while the user works on the specimen. Standard magnification runs from 20X to 60X.
Head and Stand
Because the head rotates fully, two people on opposite sides of the bench can take turns without lifting the stand. The interpupillary distance adjusts to the eye spacing of each viewer, and the whole instrument stands on the multi-purpose universal base.
