Setting Up the Two Necks
Each neck takes a bored stopper and a glass tube. To wash a gas, the inlet tube reaches below the liquid and the outlet tube ends above it, so the gas bubbles through before it leaves. To prepare a gas such as hydrogen, a thistle funnel in one neck adds acid to the solid and a delivery tube in the other carries the gas away.
