Youngs Modulus Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-SLE-5760
Jlab Export is a leading Youngs Modulus Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Youngs Modulus (code EL-SLE-5760) is a Young’s modulus apparatus for wires, used to find how much a wire stretches under load and so calculate the Young’s modulus of its material in class 11 and college physics practicals. It has a scale plate with a 0–20 cm scale and a movable vernier reading to 0.1 mm, and comes with a wall attachment, a tension weight of about 1 kg and a pair of wires. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with Other JLab Young’s Modulus Apparatus?
| Model | Measuring system | Mounting and other listed details |
|---|---|---|
| This apparatus (EL-SLE-5760) | Scale plate with 0–20 cm scale; vernier reading to 0.1 mm; thumb-screw zero | Wall attachment; tension weight of about 1 kg and one pair of wires included |
| Youngs Modulus Apparatus | Scale plate with 0 to 30 mm scale; vernier readable to 0.1 mm | Ceiling clamp with a pair of large wood screws for a beam or door frame |
| Searle’s Apparatus | Spirit level on a cross-bar; 10-0-10 mm scale with a micrometer head reading to 0.01 mm | Two hinged cast-metal frames with self-centring chucks and load hooks; ceiling bracket |
Choose this apparatus for vernier-based class practicals where a wall mounting suits the room and you want the tension weight and wires in the box. The micrometer-and-spirit-level Searle’s design reads finer, and the other vernier model is listed with a ceiling clamp.
What Is the Young’s Modulus Apparatus Used For?
Young’s modulus is the ratio of stress to strain in a stretched wire: the load per unit cross-sectional area divided by the extension per unit length. This apparatus is used for the class 11 physics practical “to determine Young’s modulus of elasticity of the material of a given wire”, linked to the chapter on mechanical properties of solids, and for the same experiment in college labs. Two identical wires hang from the wall attachment: the reference wire carries the tension weight to keep it taut, while the experimental wire is loaded step by step. Because the vernier reads the stretch of one wire against the other, sagging of the support or a change in room temperature affects both wires alike and cancels out.
Set the vernier to zero with the thumb screw, add loading masses in equal steps, and record the extension after each step and again while unloading to check that the wire returns. Measure the wire’s length with a metre scale and its diameter at several points with a screw gauge, then plot load against extension and use the slope. Keep the load well within the elastic limit, and keep feet and faces clear of the hanging masses in case a wire snaps.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Loading masses — slotted weights with a hanger are not listed as included; add them to the enquiry.
- Wires — state the wire material, diameter and length you need, and any spare pairs.
- Measuring tools — a screw gauge for the wire diameter, if your lab does not already have one.
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units; one apparatus per practical station is usual.
Frequently Asked Questions
What experiment is this apparatus used for?
Finding the Young’s modulus of the material of a wire by measuring its extension under known loads — a standard class 11 physics practical that is also done in college labs.
How precisely does it read the extension?
The movable vernier reads to 0.1 mm against a scale plate with a 0–20 cm scale, and a thumb screw sets the vernier to zero before loading.
What is included?
The two bars with the scale plate and vernier, a wall attachment for the upper ends of the wires, a tension weight of about 1 kg and one pair of wires.
Are the loading masses included?
They are not listed as part of the apparatus. Slotted weights with a hanger are separate items and can be added to the same enquiry.
Why does the apparatus use two wires?
One wire is a reference held taut by the tension weight; the other carries the load. Reading one against the other cancels out sag of the support and temperature changes, so the vernier shows only the stretch caused by the load.
What wire material and size are supplied?
The listing does not say. Tell JLab the material, diameter and length you need and it will confirm what it can supply with the apparatus.
What does an export quotation need?
The quantity, any slotted weights or spare wires, the destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, packing or labelling instructions, and the tender reference if there is one.
Who manufactures this apparatus?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of physics practical apparatus and laboratory equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. This apparatus is made in JLab’s own works rather than bought in from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy it at source, each unit is visually checked before dispatch, and repeat orders and spare wires are handled by the maker. The company is registered under CIN U29309HR2017PTC069123 and holds MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 (manufacturing enterprise). JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Turkey in the Middle East, Senegal in West Africa, Armenia in Eastern Europe, Greece in Southern Europe and Luxembourg in Western Europe. For tenders, see the JLab lab tenders page.
