Alpha Helix Molecular Model Kit Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-MME-7155
Jlab Export is a leading Alpha Helix Molecular Model Kit Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Alpha Helix Molecular Model Kit (code EL-MME-7155) is a kit of parts for building the alpha helix, the coiled secondary structure of a protein chain, in school and college biology and biochemistry lessons. Its joining pieces hold the finished model firmly enough to pass around the class, and the parts are kept in a compartmented storage case. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Alpha Helix Model Used For?
In an alpha helix the backbone of a polypeptide chain winds into a right-handed spiral, held by hydrogen bonds between the C=O group of one amino acid and the N–H group of the amino acid four positions further along, with the side chains pointing outwards. Building it lets students trace those bonds and set the helix beside a flat beta sheet. Alpha helices occur in fibrous proteins such as hair keratin and in many globular proteins.
The kit fits protein structure in the Biomolecules chapters of class 11 biology and class 12 chemistry, first-year college biochemistry and protein topics in UK and US courses. Use it as a demonstration or let small groups build the helix, then return the parts to their compartments for the next class.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — minimum 10 kits, for example one per student group plus one for the teacher.
- Parts list — request it if your tender specifies the contents.
- Companion kits — beta pleated sheet, polypeptide and amino acid models complete the protein topic.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Alpha Helix Molecular Model Kit show?
The alpha helix, the coiled secondary structure of a protein chain, with the backbone hydrogen bonds that hold each turn in place.
How many parts are in the kit?
The listing does not give a parts count. Ask JLab for the parts list with your quotation, particularly if a tender names the number of atoms or links.
How is it different from the beta pleated sheet kit?
This kit coils one chain into a helix; the beta pleated sheet kit lays chains side by side in a pleated sheet. Teachers often use both to compare the two secondary structures.
Who manufactures this kit?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it directly.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of science teaching models and laboratory equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The kit is produced at JLab’s own works rather than bought in from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers deal directly with the maker; every kit is visually inspected before it is packed, and repeat orders and replacement parts are handled by the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Canada in North America, Senegal in West Africa, Vietnam in Southeast Asia, Sweden in Northern Europe and Ecuador in South America. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
