Balance Lever Arm Type Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-SLE-4815
Jlab Export is a leading Balance Lever Arm Type Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Balance Lever Arm Type (code EL-SLE-4815) is a 1 kg lever-arm balance with a sensitivity of 1 g, used for direct-reading weighing and for relative density and upthrust experiments in school and college physics labs. Its dual range, 0–250 g in 1 g steps and 0–1 kg in 10 g steps, is selected with a swing-over mass on the indicator arm, and a hook under the pan takes suspended loads. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is a Lever Arm Balance Used For?
A lever-arm balance gives a direct reading on its scale as soon as a load is placed on the pan, with no separate weights to add, so a class can weigh many objects quickly. The low range (0–250 g in 1 g steps) suits small objects and samples, and swinging the extra mass over switches to the high range (up to 1 kg in 10 g steps) for heavier items. The hook under the pan is what makes it a physics instrument: hang a solid from the hook and weigh it in air, then weigh it again fully immersed in a beaker of water. The loss in weight is the upthrust, and the relative density is the weight in air divided by that loss — the Archimedes’ principle and relative density activities of class 9 science, revisited with fluids in class 11 physics.
Stand the balance on a firm bench, level it with the levelling screw and check that the pointer reads zero with the pan empty and the range you intend to use selected. Do not exceed 1 kg, place loads gently, and dry the hook and any immersed object after a relative density experiment so the reading stays true.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units; plan one balance per bench group if students will run the relative density practical themselves.
- Companion apparatus — add eureka cans, beakers or spring balances to the same enquiry for complete Archimedes’ principle sets.
- Delivery details — destination and any labelling or packing needs for export.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the capacity and sensitivity of this balance?
It weighs up to 1 kg with a sensitivity of 1 g. The two ranges are 0–250 g in 1 g steps and 0–1 kg in 10 g steps.
How do you change between the two ranges?
A swing-over mass on the indicator arm converts the balance from one range to the other, so no separate weights are needed.
What is the hook under the pan for?
It lets you suspend an object below the balance, for example in a beaker of water, to measure upthrust and relative density in Archimedes’ principle experiments.
How is relative density found with this balance?
Weigh the solid hanging from the hook in air, then weigh it fully immersed in water. Relative density equals the weight in air divided by the loss of weight in water.
What is the frame made of?
The frame is an aluminium casting on a three-point base with a levelling screw, which keeps the balance steady and level on the bench.
Who manufactures the lever arm balance?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and supplies it factory-direct.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of physics apparatus and school lab equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The balance is produced at JLab’s own works, not traded in, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy it direct from the people who make it, each unit is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are handled by the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Morocco in North Africa, Qatar in the Middle East, Hong Kong in East Asia, Ghana in West Africa and Canada in North America. For tenders, see the JLab lab tenders page.
Density and Weighing Apparatus
- Eureka Can (Overflow Cans Plastic) — an overflow can for displacement and Archimedes’ principle practicals.
- Spring Balance — spring balances with dual gram and newton scales for weights and forces.
- Triple Beam Balance (0-2610gm) — a single-pan beam balance with extension weights.
- Double Beam Balance (2000gm) — a beam balance with a full tare beam.
