Capacitors in Parallel and in Series
In parallel, capacitances add: the 10 µF and 100 µF capacitors together act as 110 µF. In series, the combined value falls below the smallest capacitor, because 1/C = 1/C₁ + 1/C₂; the same pair in series gives about 9.1 µF. The charge stored follows Q = CV, so at the same voltage the 10000 µF capacitor holds a hundred times the charge of the 100 µF one. Keep the applied voltage within the 24 V working voltage.
