Dual Power Binocular Stereo Microscope Track Stand 2X and 4X Objective (code EL-M-8123) is the highest-power track stand model in this series, with 2X and 4X objectives that give 20X and 40X, and 80X when optional 20X eyepieces are fitted. The long track stand keeps 100 mm between objective and sample. Made by JLab in Ambala, India, it has a cast aluminium body in grey enamel.

Working from 20X to 80X
Higher power means a smaller field, so specimens are usually located at 20X and then studied at 40X. The optional 15X and 20X eyepieces extend the pair to 30X and 60X or 40X and 80X. The 100 mm working distance stays the same whichever eyepieces are fitted, leaving room for dissecting tools.
Illumination and Stage Plate
Incident LED light shows the surface of opaque samples, transmitted light passes up through the frosted glass plate, and the two can run together at a level set by the intensity control. Turning the reversible plate to black or white gives contrast against pale or dark specimens, and the lock-on clips hold the specimen in place.
