What Is the Active Filter Trainer Used For?
An electronic filter removes unwanted components of a signal and keeps or strengthens the wanted ones. An active filter does this by adding an amplifying element to its resistors and capacitors. The trainer is used in electronics laboratories to teach how such filters are designed and how they behave: feeding a test signal at different frequencies shows which frequencies the filter passes and which it attenuates, which is the basis for reading its cut-off frequency and bandwidth.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an active and a passive filter?
A passive filter uses only resistors, capacitors and inductors, so it cannot add power gain to the signal. An active filter adds an amplifying device, usually an operational amplifier, which allows gain, a low output impedance and sharp responses without bulky inductors, but it needs a power supply.
How does it differ from the JLab Active Filters board?
This trainer has an inbuilt function generator for the test signal. The Active Filters board covers low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and notch filters built around four op-amp ICs, and calls for a decade audio frequency generator and an AC millivoltmeter as other apparatus.
Is an operating manual provided?
Yes. The trainer comes with an operating manual that briefly describes it.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
The number of trainers, the destination country and port or city, and the delivery terms you want, such as FOB or CIF, together with any tender reference.
Who manufactures this trainer?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) makes it in Ambala, Haryana, India, and deals with enquiries for it directly.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an electronics trainer and laboratory equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and located on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The trainer is made at JLab’s own works, not bought in from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers are supplied by the manufacturer itself, which also looks after repeat orders. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Tonga in Oceania, Bhutan in South Asia, Sweden in Northern Europe, Hungary in Eastern Europe and Saudi Arabia in the Middle East. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
