Hexagonal Foot and Borosilicate Glass
The flat sides of a hexagonal foot stop a cylinder that has been knocked over from rolling across the bench. Borosilicate glass changes size less with temperature than soda glass, and that is the main difference from the round-base soda glass cylinders made in the same capacities. Take each reading at the bottom of the meniscus, with your eye level with the line.
