Muscle Groups of the Head and Neck
Anatomy courses usually divide this region into three groups. The muscles of facial expression — occipitofrontalis, orbicularis oculi, orbicularis oris, zygomaticus major, buccinator and platysma among them — lie just under the skin and are supplied by the facial nerve.
